Akron Fire Company had the privilege of kicking off their Fire Prevention Week at Akron Central School. Elementary students in Kindergarten through 5th grade got to learn valuable information on how to stay prepared in case of a fire. Assistant Chief Haist educated the students the importance of discussing evacuation plans with their parents as well as what to do in case of an emergency. Fire Warden Kenneth Pagels walked the students through the fire house as well as educating about the dangers of smoke and how to go down a ladder.
